I recently helped Justin Moore make $19,000.00 in 5 days…
By sending a sequence of 18 emails (yes, we sent a lot of emails) to his list – during the launch of his new course, Gifted To Paid:
If you’re not familiar with Justin,
He’s a sponsorship coach who helps creators land their dream sponsorships:
He’s a major player in the creator space.
In fact, Justin was even featured as a case study on email service provider, ConvertKit’s blog! 👀
Anyways, I learned a lot about email during this launch. So to help you make the most of your next product launch…
Here are my 5 biggest takeaways from this experience:
Email marketing case study (product launch sequence):
1. Send more emails than you’re comfortable with… But warn your subscribers about the flood of emails to come.
- More emails = more sales. Full stop.
- We sent a total of 18 emails, over 10 days. And 5 of those emails were sent during the last 24 hours alone (!).
- But guess what? We had relatively FEW unsubscribes because we warned his list over and over about the upcoming spike in emails to expect… And reminded them they could leave at any time.
2. Tease, tease, tease the launch – BEFORE revealing the offer.
- This is “new product launch 101”.
- Create as much hype and anticipation as possible… BEFORE revealing the details of what you’re launching.
- Curiosity and suspense drive action.
3. Brainstorm every sales objection you can think of for why someone WOULDN’T buy your product… And then, either:
- (a) counter it with a good justification, or;
- (b) don’t counter it, and ask customers NOT to buy your product if a shortcoming will upset them.
- Pro tip: “price” is rarely the only sales objection… ask people why they WOULDN’T buy your product – the feedback might amaze you!
4. Start the launch sequence with emotionally-charged content, to create excitement and desire. (Like success stories or social proof.)
- Then, towards the end of the sequence, shift to more logical content. (Like countering sales objections with facts or using stats to support your sales argument.)
5. Use tags and link triggers in your email software…
- To automatically follow-up with folks who showed interested in your product.
- And to send different content to buyers and non-buyers.
